Are there people who are not in this trap?
An enlightened being is one who has broken this societal trap. An enlightened being is a person whose mind has disappeared so (s)he constantly goes through new experiences and expands by continuously seeking. The key word is "seeking." In who the capacity 'not to seek' has disappeared is an enlightened being.
In us, still there is a part of our mind which can put us in boredom or tiredness. This can make us stop seeking one day. This is why we are still seekers. If the seeking becomes eternal, there will be no part of the mind that exists to make us bored or tired. This ensures that one will be a seeker forever. That state makes one an enlightened being.
