89. Just as a bee thirsting for honey goes from one flower to another (till its thirst is satiated), so also the disciple in quest of knowledge should approach different Masters.
Note: to find the perfect Master. Student must not be satisfied with the knowledge attained and must ever be in quest of knowledge. Dattatreya with many Masters (read book for rest of notes).
GURU'S FEET IS AKIN TO SIVA-SHAKTI SHINING AS WHITE & RED (beautiful merging of Guru Tattva with Siva-Shakti Tattva)
vande gurupadadvandaṁ vāngamanotītagocaraṁ | śvetarakta-prabhābhinnaṁ śivaśaktyātmakaṁ || 90 ||
90. I worship the two Feet of the Guru, endowed with the effulgence of Śiva-Śakti Prabhā, the Supreme Consciousness, differentiated by the white and red colors, and which are beyond the reach of speech (vāṇga), mind (mana) and the senses.
[Notes: in this verse there is a beautiful merging of the Guru Tattva and the Siva-Sakti Tattva. The fact that the Siva-Sakti tattva and the Guru Tattva are identical is what is indicated in this verse.
This verse enriches the Sadhaka in meditating deep. The Siva-Sakti Tattva merges into the Guru Tattva. ]
gukāraṁ ca guṇātītaṁ rukāraṁ rupavarjitaṃ || guṇātītamrupaṁ ca yo dadhyāt sa guruḥ smṛataḥ || 91 ||
91. 'Gu' indicates the state of the Guru who is above the three Guṇas and 'ru' denotes freedom from the shackles of forms. One, who bestows the state beyond the three Guṇas and the forms, is the Guru.
Notes: The Guru is capable of freeing the disciple from the three guṇas. He frees him from the illusion of names and forms also. One who does this for you, he is the real Guru.
