Desires are like insatiable fire

23 January, 2012

No desire, no pattern, can be fulfilled by going through the action of fulfilling it.

Going into the act itself will not give you the fulfillment.

Sometimes the mind will say, if I go into the act with this engram, whether eating or listening or seeing or physical touch pleasure, I may get out of this pattern, get out of this engram, I may feel

released, relieved.

No! Be very clear, desires are like insatiable fire.

Patterns need not be entertained. The thought, I am caught with this one engram and I will come out of it only by getting into it, is just a justification of your cunning mind. Your justification is not going to be heard by the Cosmos. Cosmos only sees the straight truth.

Desires are never satisfied by going into it. The action to satisfy the desire does not give you fulfillment, and does not put the patterns off. This is one of the oldest myths with which human beings live – thinking that you can come out of the pattern through action.

No. No. No desire, no pattern, can be fulfilled by going through the act.

Manu very beautifully says, Desire is never extinguished by the enjoyment of the desired object. It only grows stronger, like the fire fed with clarified butter. The action does not get fulfilled by the pattern. When the pattern is discovered, the most intelligent thing to do is drop it. Just drop it.
