Enter the space of not-knowing
Wordless!
ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE
When you turn your attention upon any object, your energy flows towards it. Your mind, which is normally scattered in a hundred directions, is gathered and focused in one place.
Your entire consciousness becomes integrated in one direction.
When that object is suddenly removed from your awareness, the mind suddenly has nowhere to flow. Your awareness is arrested.
In that moment, it turns upon itself, and you fall into the silent thought-free space at the center.
INSTRUCTIONS
Fix your gaze upon any object before you. Take in every detail of the object carefully. Let the object consume you, consume all your attention. Absorb it into yourself, intensely.
Close your eyes. Suddenly, in one stroke, drop all that you know about the object! Just drop the object from your awareness. Everything that you know – its physical structure, its feel, its emotional or conceptual associations – just drop everything. Just suspend all knowing. For a moment your mind will struggle against this blank, as if knocking against the boundaries, wanting to go out. Then it will fall silently into this very blank, into the space of pure awareness.
ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE
We are always caught in externals. We focus on the effects and never see the cause. We play on the surface and never touch the source.
Continuously experiencing your body as a physical entity, you never imagine that it is energy. Everything is energy! Even your thoughts, your words are energy.
Your verbalization is pure energy. Because you always focus on the meaning of the words, you never experience the energy as it is.
Your verbalization arises as pure energy from the spleen center, a little below the navel. As it travels upwards through the navel, heart and throat, it is gradually molded into concepts, colored with emotional overtones and finally expressed as gross speech. In this technique, we reverse this process to dive directly from words into the energy that they have arisen from.
INSTRUCTIONS
Whenever you utter a word, ask yourself, Where was this word before I said it?
This single question is enough!
Really, in what form did the word exist before you said it?
Did it exist as a word at all?
Suddenly you will find that you cannot trace the source of your own words, and you are falling deep, deep inside – into the source.
Continuously work with this technique.
Again and again, use this question to fall into the space before words.
Soon, you will find that you are taking the turn inwards even before the word has left your lips! Not only your outer speech, but your inner chatter is also being silenced by this technique.
You are staying more and more in the space of wordless silence.
