Your body is your most intimate experience
Whatever other ideas we may carry about ourselves, our most basic identity is, 'I am this body'.
Right now, whatever you understand most deeply as 'you' is your body.
Tell me, if an attractive woman (or man) passes by, can you still remember that you are not the body?
If you have a migraine or a fever, can you console yourself by saying, 'I am not the body?'
Whenever any strong physical or chemical change affects your body, naturally you lose faith in all the philosophical knowledge you have gathered.
All you can remember is, 'I am this body'! Your meditation has to start from where you are. And right now, your body is your most intimate experience.
So if you are a seeker, especially a 'professional seeker', stop fooling yourself. Straightaway drop whatever other ideas you have read or picked up! Going beyond the body does not mean bypassing the body. It does not mean fighting with the body. It means understanding and welcoming the body. It means preparing the body for meditation. It means tuning up the body to sustain and radiate the tremendous energy of jeevanmukti – living enlightenment.
