Prayer, A Love Letter to God

OM NAMO SRI NATARAJA MANASA PUTRAYA NAMAHA

I need not be a professional

To serve You and Your people But I should be humble in my heart and mind

I need not be an artist

To draw and paint your picture But I should be able to blend colors of my ego and love

I need not be a singer

To sing Your songs and tune your prayers But I should be sincere in understanding Your rāgas

To understand Your theories and techniques But I should be an obedient follower of Your words

I need not be a scholar

To communicate with You and Your people But I should learn to read and write Your prayers

I need not be a rich woman

To do archana and aradhana to You But I should be rich in love and devotion for You

I need not be a Sanyāsini

To live in Your spiritual heaven But I should renounce what are not mine.
