The sacred Banyan Tree in Adi Kailaasa Sarvajnapeetham is directly from Kailaasa, the abode of Paramashiva.
- Under this banyan tree, Paramashiva taught Agama to Devi and the Saptarishis.
Lord Rama came and stayed here, and Paramashiva revealed the Vedas and Agamas to Sri Rama as well.
Then, Sri Rama revealed the Mukthikopanishad to Hanuman under the same banyan tree. It has existed here since time immemorial.

This Svayambu Linga (self-manifested deity) is Paramashiva Himself manifested, and thousands of years ago, Devi Herself worshipped it. It has existed here since time immemorial.
