गुǽवक्तृए िèथतंब्रéम प्राÜयतेतत्प्रसादतः | गुरोÚयार्धनंसदा कु यार्धत ् कु लèत्रिी èवपǓत ंयथा || ४० || guruvaktṛe sthitaṁ brahma prāpyate tatprasādataḥ | gurordhyānaṁ sadā kuryāt kulastrī svapatiṁ yathā || 40 ||
Knowledge is situated in the Guru's mouth or organ of speech, Guruvaktṛa, and this knowledge is attainable by devotion onto the Guru, Gurubhakti. In the three worlds, this fact is clearly enunciated by the divine Sages (devarṣis), ancestors (pitṛas) and learned men.

गुǽदर्देवो गुǽधर्धमर्मो गुरौ Ǔनष्ठा परं तपः | गुरोः परतरंनािèत ǒत्रिवारं कथयाǓन ते || २५७ ||
gururdevo gururdharmo gurau niṣṭhā paraṁ tapaḥ | guroḥ parataraṁ nāsti trivāraṁ kathayāni te || 257 ||
Guru is God. Guru is Dharma. The greatest penance (tapa) is niṣṭha, unshakable one-pointed integrity to the Guru. There is nothing superior to Guru or beyond the Guru. I repeat this three-times.
