Worshiping the Divine Mother

December 28, 2010

Mother's Day is the day we dedicate to the feminine consciousness, the mother energy.

All spiritual groups and civilizations today have the concept of the worship of the sacred feminine. But not many know that this concept is the contribution of Vedic spiritual tradition to the spiritual civilization of the world. All spiritual groups all over the world put together is what I call spiritual civilization. The spiritual civilization is part of all major religions. In all major religions, spiritual

civilization, spiritual groups, spiritual communities exist. All spiritual groups in all religions have mother-worship in some way or other.

In the Vedic tradition, all the sacred things of nature are seen as feminine. In the USA, hurricanes and natural calamities always have feminine names! In Bharat we have done the opposite. All the energies of creation are seen as feminine. That is why the worship of the feminine as the Divine Mother is the contribution of Vedic spiritual tradition.

All religions have two parts - the spiritual fruit and the religious nut! The religious nut is always based on masculine power, and the spiritual fruit is always based on feminine worship, Devi worship, worship of the Divine Mother or Cosmic Mother.

Understand, the masculine part of a religion always creates the socio-political laws of the religion - how many times can you eat, how many times can you marry, how many times can you do this, this, this. The feminine part of the religion always creates the paths to enlightenment. All the secrets of enlightenment are hidden in the traditions of feminine-worship of that religion. So whatever religion you may belong to, explore the feminine-worship traditions of your religion.
