What is healing? Why is it needed?

The science of giving energy to a person who is diseased, sick or who is feeling a lack of energy, is what we call healing

What we call disease is nothing but a state of insufficient energy, or blocks in the energy flow to a certain organ or limb in the body.

These energy blocks are caused by certain engraved memories (samskaras) or negative emotions present in our system.

The wrong mental patterns and negative emotions can powerful influence our state of health. In fact, most of our diseases are psychosomatic. They are rooted in the mind.

Not knowing this, we try to tackle our diseases at the physical level.

Understand, the body is like the hardware and the mind is like the software. We try to fix the hardware when it is the software that is causing the problem! When the software is corrupted, it continuously gives the wrong instructions to the hardware, the body.

It is our mental setup that is the root cause of disease and imbalance in our body-mind system.

If our body and mind are at ease with each other, we feel this ease as a sense of wellbeing. If our body and mind are not at ease with each other, we feel the dis-ease, which we call disease!

Since the body and mind are so deeply connected, it is possible to heal physical diseases just by changing the mental set-up. By making the relevant lifestyle changes, through spiritual practices and especially through meditation, we can easily come out of our samskaras and restore ourselves to good health

But sometimes, we are unable to do this on our own. We may not know the right technique or may not make enough time to meditate. Because of poor health, we may not have enough energy for meditation and spiritual practices. In such cases, someone who is a meditator can meditate and pass on the energy to us.

How is spiritual healing different from other forms of healing?

Spiritual healing is healing through cosmic energy.

Different types of healing employ different energies like pranic or bio-energy and mental energies (willpower or visualization) to facilitate healing.

In spiritual healing, we channel the energy directly from the source, the highest conscious energy of the cosmos.

Cosmic energy is not a blind energy like, say, electricity.

It is a conscious energy.

It knows where to flow and how to heal, because it has its own independent intelligence.

Because of this, spiritual healing can never have any negative side-effects.

Moreover, when you are connected to an inexhaustible energy source, there is no danger of losing energy by healing. On the contrary, the cosmic energy first enters and fills the healer, and then overflows into the one who is receiving the healing! Instantaneous healing and distance healing (where healer and patient are not physically in contact) are proof that this conscious energy is beyond the constraints of space and time.

How does spiritual healing work?

In spiritual healing, the healer connects to the cosmic energy and channels it into the diseased organ or body part through the relevant chakra.

The chakras are the subtle energy hubs of the body.

Although they exist on the energy plane, in the physical body they are represented along the length of the spine. The seven major chakras are located in a straight line from the root of the spine to the crown of the head.

Each chakra strongly influences the functioning of the surrounding organs and glands.

They act as open windows to receive the universal energy. When we channel healing energy to the relevant chakra rather than to the affected body part, the energy is absorbed and distributed rapidly and the healing is faster.
