Meditation for Sagittarius: Contemplate beyond Perception
Jupiter natives can be benefitted through techniques that boost their body and enable them to expand their capacity to visualize. Sagittarians naturally seek the state of meditation; they can easily fall into the no-mind state. To add to it, they can also practice yoga, which will bring this state into their body, into their cells, and also boost their kapha constitution which needs dynamism. Rituals are also techniques that Sagittarians are attracted too, enabling their devotional and traditional approach to spirituality to be expressed in a beautiful way.
Duration: 10 minutes - Sit in a comfortable position and contemplate on your mind. Think about the most elevated things you know. Now, drop this thought.
Next, try to think beyond your previous thought. You might think about the galaxy beyond the solar system. When you are able to think of the galaxy, then drop that thought. Go beyond the galaxy. When you continuously expand your mind to go beyond, you will be in the present moment.
Whatever you think is the ultimate in your life, drop it, and expand your thinking to something bigger. Then again your mind will automatically grasp something else. Don't allow your mind to hold that idea; drop it also. Don't bother about the ending. Just constantly keep dropping each boundary, each thought, and expanding, going beyond.
Meditate on the real Master, or the real cosmos or the real God. You may think you have grasped the essence of God, but that can never be, because your mind can never grasp the real God! If your mind can grasp God, it means your mind is greater than God. So what you grasped is not God, it is just your idea of God. Drop the idea and try again. Grasp something bigger than that.
Continuously try to grasp the ultimate truth. And you will experience the bliss of no-mind.
Nithya Dhyaan: the Universal Technique
Nithya Dhyaan is a formula and technique that works on all the components of your being. Whatever your birth sign may be, it awakens the cosmic powers within you and makes them available to your being to excel in all spheres of life.
This is a five-step technique. Allow seven minutes for each step. Keep your eyes closed throughout the meditation.
1- Chaotic breathing:
Sit in vajr¢sana (kneel and sit on your heels). Place your hands on your hips and breathe chaotically, without a repetitive rhythm. Just focus on your breathing; let your entire being become the breathing.
2- Intense Humming:
Continue to sit in vajr¢sana, form cin mudra with your fingers (with the thumb and forefinger forming a circle and other three fingers outstretched), and place your hands on your knees, palms facing upwards. In this posture, with your mouth closed, produce the sound 'Mmmm…' from inside your body, as loudly and lengthily as possible.
3- Cakra awareness:
You may continue to sit in vajr¢sana or sit crossed legged if you wish. Keep your fingers in cin mudra position. Now, bring your awareness to each cakra one after the other, from m¦l¢dh¢ra cakra (root center) to sahasr¢ra cakra(crown center).
Feel each cakra completely as if your whole being has become that energy center.
4- Silent Meditation: Be unclutched
In this step, carry the understanding with you that your thoughts are unconnected, irrational and unclutched. Don't try to create thoughts, don't try to maintain thoughts, don't try to destroy thoughts or react to them. Just sit and watch them. Understand, by your very nature, you are pure being and bliss.
5- Guru P¦ja
Now, connect, relax and rest into the universal energy. Just sit in a very deep and passive way, feeling one with the whole, God,
or your Master. Listen to the Guru P¦ja mantras and feel their vibration in you. Express your gratitude with reverence.
Nithya Yoga for You
When the dynamism is low in the person, outdoors sports like tennis, golf or even jogging can be practiced to assist Jupiter's energy. Otherwise, gentle yoga postures that work on sahasr¢ra cakra, as well as S¦rya Namask¢r (the ancient Sun salutation) can be practiced by all natives!
