Worry

  • 1. Origin:
  • i. Internal.
  • ii. It is not external
  • 2. What is it:
  • i. Negative inner chatter
  • ii. Continuous stream of uncontrollable thoughts like man driving car not knowing how to stop.
  • iii. Constant Movement (oscillation) between past and future.
  • iv. Thoughts about past (fear) are analysis, continuous judgement, reviewing with updated intelligence, what it should have been like, etc
  • v. Thoughts about future (greed) imaginations, things may go wrong, how to handle all probable situations, etc
  • vi. Worry is a comfort zone to hide from reality and responsibility.
  • 3. What is it about:
  • i. Worrying is related to maintaining Ego. Collecting and maintaining certificates.
  • ii. Bigger the ego, bigger the worries. Without worry, ego loses its reason for existence.
  • iii. Speaking in without self-respect. Speaking Out.
  • iv. Speaking out to escape from inner chatter madhouse inside.
  • v. Complaining is worry related because you are caught up with words. You feel you are worthy of something and have not been given that.
  • vi. Complaining you are expressing your own mind, not about the person you are complaining.
  • 4. It is an addiction
  • i. Mere habit. Unreal and unnecessary.
  • ii. Worry gives an axis about which to move. We secretly love our worries. Fond of our worries.
  • iii. One feels important if they have worries.
  • iv. We also worry about worries.
  • v. If there is nothing to worry, then we worry how long this state is going to last.
  • vi. Worries are elusive and baseless. You will never be able to pin them down because they are baseless. They are not solid.
  • vii. Worries have power to make or break your life.
  • viii. You give power to the worries by talking about them more and more.
  • ix. See if you are comfortable with your worries.
  • 5. How to stop it:
  • i. Never analyze past with updated intelligence.
  • ii. Be with a sense of gratitude always.
  • iii. When negative thoughts rise, say "I am not going to get affected by you."
  • iv. Have you seen a buffalo or a cow worried.
  • v. Hell and heaven are not geographic. When you worry hell is inside you. You carry it around.
  • vi. Like how cholesterol creates blockages in arteries, worry creates energy blockages in your Being.
  • vii. Infuse awareness into your breath. Power of Now is straight way to bliss.
  • viii. Don't spend time correcting thoughts. Awareness will do it for you.
  • ix. We think we have to go through worry and anxiety to be showered.
  • x. Be relaxed means consciousness is alert all the time. Being completely aware.
  • xi. Addiction cannot be dropped by trying to drop it. Anything you resist will persist. It can only be transformed by deep awareness.
  • 6. Psychological revolution.
  • i. Not worrying about worry.
  • ii. Chronological planning instead of psychological planning.
  • iii. Understanding about doing or acting only what is in control.
  • iv. Way to worry is through the mind and the way out can also be only through the mind.
  • v. Look into yourself with awareness how your worries take root. We keep collecting words, creating opinions and going over them in a repeated fashion.
  • vi. Mind is an excellent recording system. It stores your negative thought patterns, your complexes, your worries and repeats faithfully.
  • vii. When mind fails to find consistency in everything, it finds it difficult to digest.
  • viii. When spontaneity happens, you flow without thinking.
  • 7. Understanding that thoughts are unrelated to the happenings in the world. ( from the media section..)
  • i. Imagine the tape you are listening to is silent and has no content for just 2 minutes. What happens? Your mind races. Thoughts flood you. What has happened you wonder, what has gone wrong? Why are there no words?
  • ii. Nothing has gone wrong. Nothing at all. Your mind cannot tolerate silence, that is all. Thoughts and words are a call of your consciousness telling you that your center is unfilled.
  • iii. There are 2 kinds of people. One kind is the people who follow words and seek meaning behind the words. Another kind is those who ignore the meaning and seek the source of thoughts. The first kind is the Commissar and the second kind is the Yogi.
  • iv. Seeking words and thoughts cannot fulfill you. When you seek words you move into the outer world. You move into the space of sense objects which results in

pain or pleasure. However many times you may experience the physical or sensual pleasure led, by your thoughts you still keep seeking the same pleasure. What one calls karma, is really the effect of these unfulfilled desires.

  • v. The meaning of thoughts and words is not to provoke movement towards these external experiences that can never be fulfilled, but to move towards the center, the core of your being. Only there will you find the comfort in silence.
  • vi. Words soothe your superficial mind the same way as scratching an itch seems to provide some comfort. In actual fact it makes the problem worse. It is the same with words. The more words you use the more confused you are. Be careful of all those scholars and philosophers who use highly complex language and words to propound their theories. They themselves do not understand what they are saying, so they are forced to confuse others by using complexity as a tool.
  • vii. Whenever you ask questions, more questions arise. This is seen as the measure of intelligence in our system of education. When one really understands, one realizes that questions and answers do not lead to any understanding at all. Secondly one realizes that understanding happens when thoughts cease.
  • viii. Truth resides in silence. Truth resides in contemplation. As you move inwards towards the source of words and thoughts, mind becomes still in simplicity. This stillness this silence leads to fulfillment.
  • 1. Understanding how mind processes information
  • 2. Bringing about a psychological revolution in the conscious zone
  • 3. Meditation technique to clear unconscious mental setups or engraved memories.
