Fulfill Your Role in Marriage🔗

Q. I am planning to get married soon. What is your advice on the role of male and female in a marriage?

Whether you are a male or a female, your role in marriage is sharpening your capabilities of compassion and compatibility.

You are increasing the ability to accommodate more people into your desires, your fear, your goals and ambitions. You are also expanding your capacity to support them in your inner space; keeping them feeling connected to what you want, and increasing the ability to connect with what they want.

I tell you, marriage is nothing but a one-life Guru-disciple relationship! Only when your ambitions and goals find and have a place for the other person, and the other person's ambitions and goals find and have a place for you, will you be 'homely' in the marriage. Only then will you be fulfilling your role in marriage. Other than that, there is no other way.

One more thing I want to tell you, you cannot have a complete union of mind. For that to happen, both persons should be in the no-mind space. The union of minds never happens. At least be very clear that both of you find a place for each other in your ambitions and goals.

Whatever is your ambition, your goal in marriage is to see to it that you find a place for the other person. Same way, they should find space for your ambitions and goals. That is the only way you will be fulfilling your role in marriage.
